We have a new process for directly adding course events to Google Calendar.
This is a brand new process, which may evolve over time.
We have added course schedules to student, teacher, and room calendar feeds.
Student view, many calendar feeds turned on.
This is what Google Calendar may look like, to a student, after course events are added.
The same event may appear to have been duplicated.
Really, Google Calendar is displaying multiple feeds, and the particular event is showing up multiple times.
Turn off Course feeds
This will make Google Calendar easier to read.
Anatomy of a Course Event (Student View of personal calendar feed)
This is the event, as it shows on the student's free/busy feed.
Course Event (Teacher view, personal calendar feed)
Even the teacher can't edit the event in their personal calendar feed.
Course Event, COURSE FEED
Now it can be edited! This is how a teacher can reserve a lab, or add some content to the event. Please do not rename the event.
From the perspective of another user, trying to book a space
A user that is not in the class at all, when trying to book the room, will see the couse event in the Free/Busy schedule of the room.
How Free/Busy feeds appear (when adding people to event)
In this invitation, I have added the student and teacher from the other examples, as well as the room. Google Calendar will communicate that the people are busy, but not reveal what they are doing. It will show the room as having specific class meetings.
